I purchased this for an off the shelf 10/22 with fixed barrel with Tech Sights installed in place of the oem irons. Due to the height of the sight replacements, barrel bands will not fit over the end of the barrel or receiver for installation or removal. The oem band is polymer and can be stretched open over the thin tapered barrel for removal. Wanting to add a light duty picatinny, I went looking for a polymer option that could similarly be installed without removing my front sight and re-zeroing. The Jager replacement seemed like a suitable option. On arrival I was pleased to find the quality of the glass filled nylon was excellent. Stiff but still flexible and without obvious voids or low tolerance molding defects. In addition, the Jager band includes two hex bolts to fasten the tension down. This is an improvement over the Ruger band. Once attached, I found it to be sturdy and snug with room to tighten a bit further if needed to reduce shimming requirements. I did not expect the lower rail to get much use from my needs, but it was sufficiently strong to move my bipod off the aluminum rail adapted to my sling stud and onto the Jager band. There is some flex when folding the spring loaded bipod legs, however it is perfectly sufficient for my use at a range bench. I am certain the mount will support any lights with ease and I found that my spare olight fits securely and provides sufficient illumination to see my peep sight in low light plinking. Dual hex screws will not accept a barrel band sling adapter common to the 10/22 oem band. Great price for the exact part I needed.
